Balanced Meals

One thing I learned from my mom and grandma was to have a simple dinner consisting of a meat, a starch, and a green veggie.

The basic-ness, the wholesome-ness, the well-rounded-ness, the simplicity of this kind of meal beckons me when things are so busy or overwhelming as they have been lately.

This weekends dinners consist of:

Baked spiced chicken breasts, green salad, baked french fries

Brats, slaw (slaw mix combined with mayo, vinegar, and spices), and potato chips

Meatloaf (ground beef mixed with chili powder, onion powder, garlic salt, 2 to 3 eggs, and some oatmeal), mashed potatoes, and broccoli with cheese

instant mashed potatoes that are really good when made according to directions
